How to save money and get more out of it

Money is the most desired thing in the world. This is because most people can solve most of their problem with money. Though money is not everything, living without money is almost like living without food. Everyone wants to be a rich guy and make more money, however not everyone has luck in their favor so that they can be rich. It is for this reason that one needs to make the best use of the money one already has.

You can really get more out of your money. How is this possible? Here are some few steps you can follow to get more out of your money.

One of the most important things involved with money is planning. Unless one plans on how one intends to spend ones money, the chances are that one will not be able to make full utilization of ones money. So always plan ahead on how much money you would spend on what.

Once you plan on your budget, then keep the money for each in separate covers so that you know which money is meant for what.

One of the most important things one needs to remember is that a wise man will spend his money carefully and not just buy the best of everything because he can afford it now, but rather he would save for a rainy day.

So whatever product you are buying, be it a small umbrella or a big car or house, compromise for a bit cheaper one than you can actually afford at the time. So many times the brand no.1 will be much more costlier than brand no.2 just because brand no.1 is no.1. So the next time before you buy a no.1 product, do check no.2, 3, 4, and 5 and you might just realize that they may be as good as no.1 or may be even better. Remember the assumption that costlier product is a better product is not always right.

When you want to buy a new product, plan the finances by saving on other things. Make a savings box. So suppose you want to buy a new TV after one year, start now on. First allot a small amount from your budget every month, next every time you want to spend money lavishly, remember about the thing you want to buy and save the money so that you can put it into your savings box. For example if you had dinner outside four times a month and when you think of having the fifth time, then may be you can make a bit of sacrifice and save the money. However if the saved money is not put into the box with the specific purpose, then your saved money will never be saved as the next day you might end up using the money in your purse for something else. So the lesson is when you save money, save it with a purpose and put it safely into the savings box made for the specific purpose. This will not only help you save money but also give you the motivation to move towards your goal and once achieved it will give intense satisfaction.

It is a wise idea to give responsibility of monitoring money spending to someone in your house. So when you lose track, there is somebody to remind you that you are going off the track.

When you buy groceries for you house, buy groceries for the whole one or two months depending on how long which grocery would stay. There is no harm in buying supply of soap items for a whole year. This is because when you buy in bulk, you can buy from wholesale shops which will give you the benefit of saving compared to your retailer who would include even his profit. Another factor is you will get the exact idea on how much quantity of what you will require or have used so that you can whether any wastage or even theft is happening from your stuff. Another fact is that you are saving on your transportation cost you incur every time you go out to buy each item. Last but least, your precious time of traveling every time to buy each stuff is saved.

People tend to eat outside more often when they get bored with the home food. However instead of the whole family going out to hotels and ordering food and eating up unwanted food, then wasting excess food, it would be wiser for one person to go and collect food for the whole family to eat from home. You can make your main dish at home and get selected side dishes from outside. This way the boredom is gone. When you make the main dish at home (like rice or bread), you don’t end up paying high for the same basic dish with the same taste when you order outside. You don’t have to pay for travel of all, don’t have to pay for the mineral water, don’t have to pay parking charges, don’t have to tip the waiter. Any excess food can be kept in the refrigerator also. This way rather than completely cutting out from hotel, you are free from boredom as well as you save your money.

It is important for you know the difference between your want and need. When you feel like buying something, then give yourself at least two weeks time to know whether your need is really the need or you want it for some fancy reason.

Carry only the cash you really need. Don’t carry too much of extra cash. Most people think that they will not spend more, but it has been proved many times by many people that having extra cash in hand gives one tendency to buy more than what was intended. In case you want money for an emergency, keep it in a sealed packet so that you don’t get tempted easily to spend that on purchase.

In earlier days most of the services were not charged at all. However more and more modern banks are charging more as service charges and hidden charges. So choose a bank where transaction charges and annual are less.
