Fox and crane spotted at the stock market
59
Once upon a time there lived a cunning fox. One day the fox was near the river when he saw the crane catching fish at the river. The fox went near the crane and started praising how beautiful the crane was and how the fox would like to have a friend like the crane. He then told it would be great to have a friendship between them as it would be mutually beneficial. After a bit of talking, the fox was able to convince the crane to catch and give a fish to the fox. This went on for a few days when one day the crane was unwell. He then called upon the fox and told him he was unwell and wanted the fox to help him get food. The cunning fox was not the least grateful, however he still called the crane home out of compulsion. On reaching home, the fox made soup and served it in two plates at the dinning table knowing very well that the crane could not have it from a plate. The crane tried to eat from the plate in vain while the fox enjoyed his soup. The fox acted innocent and had his full while the hungry crane could not have the soup from the plate.
Over the years whether the fox has changed or not is unclear, but man has learnt from the fox.
Ordinary people used to put money in the bank and earn interest on that money. It was a simple procedure. The money earned through interest though was not really a great sum, but it did help them have some savings and have a hope for the future. However the foxes our times are not happy with the money they have made. In the name of economic growth, they are still eager to snatch from the ordinary poor average person and still be able to show it as legal. They have thought of reducing interest on bank deposits. They go on reducing bank interest rates and expect everyone to put their money into the stock market as there is no other place one can keep the savings to earn something. They show that in stock market people can be rich and richer… but then for an ordinary man of a developing country who is struggling to live, the stock market is nothing but the soup in a plate given by the fox to crane. It is a game where they expect you to share your money, but then only the smartest of the rich get most of the returns. The ordinary poor and not so educated people who are hunted for during votes … shares their fish like the crane to be given a plate of soup that only the big wise educated and the rich get to eat.
Long live the wise educated foxes and let cranes in the democracy keep fishing the votes for foxes who can lie every five years!
